PRP
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is also known as Autologous Conditioned Plasma – meaning it is taken from the body of the patient and used to bring about healing.
A PRP treatment takes advantage of the body’s natural healing properties by using its own tissues to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscle and bone, and increase hair growth. PRP can improve joint function, reduce pain, and allow for a return to a healthy way of life after an injury. It is one of the safest treatments for baldness, with none of the risks associated with medications and topical applications.
PRP injections can be utilised in many areas of the body, including the shoulder, knee, hip, back and spine, leg, foot, arm, elbow, toes, fingers, hand, thumb, neck and scalp.
How does it work?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. Blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, and is then placed into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins the blood so fast that it separates into three different substances – red blood cells, platelet-rich plasma, and white blood cells. The plasma with the most amount of platelets is then injected into the site of the body that needs it – whether it’s a joint, a muscle, or the scalp.
Our bodies are designed to heal themselves, and PRP treatment allows that self-healing to be even more effective.
PRP is one of the safest and most effective treatments for hair loss, showing excellent results after just a few sessions. It avoids the use of potentially harmful drugs, and has no side-effects. Once the desired hair growth has been achieved, a maintenance dose of one injection per year is recommended to keep everything running smoothly.
Areas we can treat
Skin Texture and Tone Enhancement: Vampire facials are known for their ability to improve skin texture and tone. By stimulating the production of collagen, the skin becomes more elastic and firm, reducing the appearance of fine lines and resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion.
Reduction of Fine Lines and Wrinkles: As the skin’s elasticity and firmness improve, there is a noticeable reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. This makes vampire facials a favored option for those targeting the visible signs of aging.
Boost in Skin Hydration and Radiance: Growth factors in PRP enhance blood circulation to the facial skin, leading to improved hydration and a radiant, glowing look.
Effective Scar and Hyperpigmentation Treatment: Vampire facials have shown significant results in the treatment of acne scars and hyperpigmentation, promoting the regeneration of healthier skin cells and evening out skin tone.
Minimal Downtime and Recovery: Unlike some invasive cosmetic procedures, vampire facials offer the advantage of minimal downtime, allowing patients to quickly resume their daily activities.
Natural Hair Restoration: PRP therapy uses your body’s natural elements, reducing the risk of allergic reactions and side effects.
Stimulates Hair Growth: The growth factors in PRP awaken dormant hair follicles, promoting new hair growth.
